The Conwy Valley is flanked by rolling hills and farmland to the east and by the Snowdonian mountain range to the west, which rise up majestically from the floor of the valley. These hills and mountains encapsulate a beautiful green valley through which the River Conwy flows as it meanders down from the craggy mountains above Betws y Coed, to the wide and slow moving estuary that emerges by Conwy Castle. On this journey the River passes through scenery which is quite simple stunning.
The valley has something for everyone and caters for all ages. If you merely want a quiet relaxing time taking in village life or landscaped gardens, then the Conwy Valley is definitely for you. The coastal resorts of Llandudno and Conwy are within easy striking distance if you like to take in the sea air or potter around the shops. If you prefer a more active walking holiday, you are spoilt for choice as there are walking opportunities at every turn. For the thrill seekers amongst you, there is everything from mountain biking or tree top walks to rock climbing or caving activities. There really is something for everybody. Lying in the foothills of Snowdonia, the Conwy Valley sees a wide variety of weather conditions, but is whether it is bright sunshine of there is frost or snow on the ground, the beauty is plain to see.
